Vitor Pernambuco: "I want to progress and be stronger"
Brazilian forward Vitor Pernambuco is one of the first to join the ranks of FC Sheriff. In the first interview after signing the contract, Vitor spoke about himself, about his career in Europe and about his goals in the new team.

- Vitor, tell us about yourself, how did you connect your life with football?
 — This is a common story in Brazil - a lot of boys play amateur football and grow up to professional players with big names. I began to learn football from childhood, played with my peers and dreamed of achieving some heights. And so it happened - in one of the games in Sao Paulo they noticed me. I was 17 years old. From then on, things got serious.

- Why are you called "Pernambuco"?
- I came from Pernambuco, one of the states in the east of Brazil. When I played in Sao Paulo, they began to call me that, since then this nickname has stuck with me. But it didn't happen right away. In São Paulo, people speak with a different accent. Since I am from the north, for some reason they began to call me "Bahia" - this is also the name of the state and the stadium, but in the northeast of the country. I did not respond and did not react. Once one of the players called me "Pernambuco" - in the future they began to call me that.

- What is the main argument for moving to FC Sheriff?
- Sheriff is a big club, a regular participant in European cups, this captivates many players, and I am no exception. I have never seen such an infrastructure - it's great. I'm happy to be here. I want to justify the trust.

- You played in Georgia, Ukraine and Norway. Where did you like it the most?
- I got a good experience in FC Lviv, in Georgia I played in the best team in the country - Dynamo Tbilisi. Good time for me. I will especially highlight the period of performances at Dynamo and the Norwegian Bodø / Glimt, because with these clubs I managed to win the championships of their countries.

- Did you manage to adapt quickly from Brazil to Norway - the country of the Arctic Circle?
- In Norway, it was easier for me, no matter how strange it might sound. I moved there from Ukraine where I experienced real cold. I have never been as cold as in Ukraine. In Norway, the temperature is even lower, but I repeat, in Ukraine I got a good hardening.

- Recently, FC Bodø-Glimt has been on the radar thanks to a sensational victory over the Italian Roma - 6:1 in the Conference League. You were among the substitutes in that match. What emotions did you experience?
- It was incredible for everyone. Everyone was very happy: the team, the fans and the city. The fans there are incredible, they support their team so warmly.

- What goals would you like to achieve with FC Sheriff?
- I want to progress and be stronger as a footballer. I think I can do it with a new coach and team. Of course, I want to achieve another championship, now here in Moldova.
