Vadim Skripchenko: «We will prepare the players to achieve the best possible result»
Commentary from Sheriff FC head coach Vadim Skripchenko after the match against Milsami FC:
- Mr. Skripchenko, BATE came to us, played with Sheriff in the European Cup, and when I said that tomorrow you will face a team that may not have a single Moldovan player, all of them foreign legionnaires, one of the coaching staff remarked that he did not envy his colleagues from Moldova. Perhaps all the problems stem from the fact that there are too many foreign players in the starting lineup. What is your opinion?
- First of all, I want to say that we work with the players we have at our disposal. We cannot change the situation in any way, so our main coaching task is to get the most out of the personnel we have in terms of results and game structure. Of course, the coaching staff and translators help to convey the requirements we have for the team so that the players can fulfill them on the field.
Today, we can state that there were not many dangerous moments near the goal in the first half, especially from our opponents delivering the ball into our penalty area, but it is important to remain calm near the goal because any contact with a player in the penalty area is always fraught with danger, and I believe that the penalty we received was purely emotional, something like an overreaction by our player, who could have handled the situation more cleanly and effectively, with a cool head, so to speak, in order to avoid this situation and not break the rules. Therefore, we tried to change the game in the second half, made some pretty good attacks, had some dangerous moments, but today our opponent deserved to win, so we have to accept this defeat.
- What will you focus your time and attention on in the remaining four rounds, which will conclude the third round and bring us to the moment of truth when the medals will be decided?
- The most important task now is to work for the maximum result in the four remaining matches. All the players understand this perfectly well. The team understands this. Our opponents are serious, from the top of the table, from the top six, who are currently in the leading positions.
We have a home game against Bălți in the championship, then we travel to Petrocub, then after the international break in November we host Zimbru, and then we finish the autumn part of the season with a match against Dacia. Plus, there's a cup game on Wednesday. The most important thing is to get the players ready to give their all and achieve the best possible result.
