The national team of Moldova has a match in terms of the preliminary cycle for the World Championship in 2018. Moldovan players with their head coach Igor Dobrovolski play with Wales on September 5 in Cardiff. Four Sheriff players have been capped: goalkeeper Alexei Koselev and midfielders Radu Ginsari and Vladislav Ivanov, defender Vitali Bordian.
 
Sheriff goalkeeper Bojidar Mitrev is also capped for the match against Luxembourg in terms of the qualifying round for the World Championship 2018. The match takes place on 6 September 2016 at 20:45 at Vasil Levski National Stadium in Sophia.
 
Mateo Susic plays in the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina on 6 September at 20:45 against Estonia. The match takes place at the stadium Bilino Polje in Zenica in terms of the qualifying round for the World Championship 2018.
